Batik Craft Fashion Design D-4 Study Program Students' Work Featured in JMFW 2023

The work of students of the Batik Craft Fashion Design Study Program (Prodi) D-4, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta successfully passed the curation and was featured in the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) 2023: Adibusana Vocational Masterpiece on October 21, 2023 at Hall 9 Ice BSD. Icha Olivia, a student of Study Program (Prodi) D-4 Fashion Design Kriya Batik will present fashion with the theme Ready To Wear Muslim Clothing at JMFW 2023. JMFW 2023 is also broadcasted through the Youtube channel of the Ministry of Trade and Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week.

Fashion ready to wear Muslim is a ready to wear fashion that does not need to use fithing and this fashion can be used anytime and anywhere. On this occasion, Icha Olivia brought several types of ready-to-wear clothes with Korean women's life style, which is a composition of closed clothes that also become Muslim clothes with modern style. In various fashion works produced, Icha Olivia included elements of Liring and Tabuik batik motifs. Liring is a ceplok batik motif that depicts fate and the order of life, bringing in life in the world there are already rules and lines. So it is hoped that the wearer of this batik can live life regularly, Liring batik is similar to Korean culture as a motif such as weaving. In addition, there is the creation of Tabuik batik motifs, tabuik is a festival event in West Sumatra in the city of Pariaman where tabuik has meanings and the meaning of this tabuik is made as a batik motif creation.

Icha Olivia will perform with students from 12 vocational education institutions. Students from vocational education institutions who will appear in JMFW 2023 include ISBI Bandung, Ibu Kartini Semarang Social Welfare Academy, Syubbanul Wathon Vocational School, SMK N 3 Magelang, SMK NU 2 Kedungpring, SMK N 1 Batu, ISWI Fashion Academy, SMK N 1 Kasreman Ngawi, SMK Cendika Bangsa Kepanjen, SMK NU Banat Kudus and Maranatha Christian University. The achievements made by Icha Olivia and her colleagues are proof that products produced by vocational education students can be immediately accepted by the market.
