ISI Yogyakarta Lecturer Receives Prasetya Adikarya Budaya Award #3

Lecturer and Head of the Art Management Study Program, FSR ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Mikke Susanto, MA. received Anugerah Prasetya Adikarya Budaya #3 in 2021 from the Padhang Njingglang Tulungagung Cultural Community. Dr. Djuli Djatprambudi from Surabaya State University also received the same award. The two lecturers were given the Anugerah Prasetya Adikarya Budaya award because they were seen as loyal servants, researchers, fighters and thinkers in the field of fine arts writing in the country. Their achievements have been significant in the development of culture over the past decade.

The awarding ceremony went smoothly and solemnly last night (27/11), witnessed by artists. The event was opened with traditional music by the Karawitan group "Ngesti Laras" led by Ki Handoko and promoter Pak Waris. This accompaniment further brought out the majesty of Javanese cultural values as a cultural masterpiece.

Located at Joglo Sendang Kamulyan Art Space Tulungagung, the two awardees, Djuli Djatiprambudi and Mikke Susanto gave presentations in the diakusi. Among them is about artistic writing as a record of cultural events. Each gave a comparative perspective on the meaning of art in society. The importance of traditional art was also mentioned.

Anang Prasetyo, as the organizer and moderator, said that in 1994 Djuli Djatiprambudi had made a signal, and it is still relevant 25 years later, that there are many works and events of art, but those who observe, write, let alone make art criticism, and discuss it paradigmatically are very lacking.

Even Mikke, in the dialogue session, suggested that the existence of criticism is something that is missing. The history of authorship from time to time was also touched upon. This includes answering one of the questions about why paintings are expensive from participants in the discussion session.

The event was attended by 70 participants from Trenggalek, Kediri, Yogyakarta, Gresik, Surabaya, Pacitan & surrounding areas. Participants seemed to enjoy the presentation of the 2 national art presenters until it ended at 23.30 WIB.

Hopefully this award can foster enthusiasm for writing in the field of culture. Not to forget the spirit of the recipients can continue to inspire the younger generation to work better.
