ISI Yogyakarta Brings the Vision of Indonesian Art Education to an Academic Art Forum in Budapest

Yogyakarta, April 29, 2026— The Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta once again reaffirmed its position as an internationally reputable arts university through its participation in the 3rd International Staff Week at HUFA, organized by the Hungarian University of Fine Arts (HUFA) in Budapest, Hungary, from April 20-24, 2026.

In the agenda, ISI Yogyakarta was present as one of the international partner institutions along with several universities from various countries, including India, Nigeria, the United States, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Italy, Albania, and Japan. Based on the official event program, the ISI Yogyakarta presentation session took place on Thursday, April 23, 2026, featuring Dr. Muhammad Kholid Arif Rozaq, S.Hut., M.M., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni, and Petrus Gogor Bangsa, Head of the International Affairs Office of ISI Yogyakarta.

ISI Yogyakarta's participation in this forum marks an important moment to expand academic networks, strengthen international cooperation, and open up new collaboration opportunities in the fields of art education, research, academic mobility, faculty exchange, and joint program development. ISI Yogyakarta's presence at HUFA also demonstrates international recognition of ISI Yogyakarta's role as an art higher education institution actively building cross-national and cross-disciplinary dialogue.

The HUFA 2026 International Staff Week is designed as a space for the exchange of ideas among educators, practitioners, artists, and administrators in higher arts education. In addition to presentations from partner universities, this event also includes visits to various HUFA academic facilities, such as exhibition halls, libraries and archives, graphic art studios, restoration departments, visual arts, painting, sculpture, intermedia, and scenic design. The program brings together academic perspectives, artistic practices, and institutional networks in one international forum.

Through this participation, ISI Yogyakarta is not only present as a participant but also as an important representation of Indonesian higher art education on the global stage. The forum becomes a strategic space to introduce ISI Yogyakarta's strengths in tradition-based art education, contemporary creativity, cultural development, and art's contribution to society.

In their statement, HUFA organizers also expressed their appreciation to international guests for their excellent presentations and valuable exchange of experiences. ISI Yogyakarta was mentioned as one of the guest institutions that contributed to enriching the dynamics of International Staff Week alongside universities from various regions of the world.
