Handover of PPKS Task Force to PPKPT, ISI Yogyakarta Affirms Safe and Inclusive Campus Commitment

Yogyakarta, January 13, 2026 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta officially held a handover activity from the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS Task Force) to the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT Task Force). This activity is an important milestone in strengthening the academic community protection system as well as adjusting institutional policies to the latest national regulations.

The transition from the PPKS Task Force to the PPKPT Task Force is a follow-up to the enactment of the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 55 of 2024 concerning Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Higher Education Environment. This regulation replaces Permendikbudristek Number 30 of 2021 with a broader scope, not only regulating sexual violence, but also covering physical, psychological violence, bullying, discrimination, intolerance, and policy-based violence in the higher education environment.

Through the formation of the PPKPT Task Force, ISI Yogyakarta emphasizes its commitment to building a safe, healthy, inclusive, and equitable teaching and learning ecosystem, and ensuring that all Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi activities take place without the threat of violence in any form.

The PPKPT Task Force of ISI Yogyakarta is officially chaired by Megawati Atiyatunnajah, S.H., M.H., who has a scientific background in law. In her statement, Megawati emphasized that the formation of PPKPT was not just a change in nomenclature, but a strengthening of the system and institutional responsibility in ensuring the safety of the academic community.

“The PPKPT Task Force is present as a form of ISI Yogyakarta's seriousness in protecting the entire academic community from all forms of violence. Prevention and handling are not only oriented towards prosecution, but also on awareness building, siding with victims, and creating a campus culture of mutual respect and justice, ”said Megawati.

Furthermore, Megawati emphasized that the PPKPT Task Force will work in a professional, transparent, and victim-perspective manner while upholding the principles of confidentiality, justice, and legal certainty.

“We ensure that each report will be handled according to applicable procedures, prioritizing the safety and recovery of victims. The Task Force is also committed to providing adaptive policy recommendations so that the violence prevention system at ISI Yogyakarta continues to develop and be relevant,” he added.

In carrying out its duties, the PPKPT ISI Yogyakarta Task Force carries out the mandate to prevent, handle, protect and restore victims of violence in the campus environment. The Task Force work program is directed at systematic and sustainable efforts, including through socialization and anti-violence education activities for students and the entire academic community, psychological assistance training, and strengthening legal advocacy for victims of violence.

In the aspect of case handling, the PPKPT Task Force works based on the complaint Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Each report is officially submitted by the victim through the complaint channel provided, followed by a verification process, summoning the victim, psychological assistance or legal advocacy if needed, examining witnesses, summoning the reported party, and preparing recommendations for sanctions to the head of the university.

To ensure the sustainability and accountability of the handling, the PPKPT Task Force of ISI Yogyakarta also built a network of collaboration with various external institutions, including DP3AP2 DIY (Office of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control), Spring Up Consultant, and Rifka Annisa, to strengthen psychological assistance services, legal advocacy, and victim recovery.

The formation and ratification of the PPKPT Task Force ISI Yogyakarta is officially stipulated through the Decree of the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta Number 675, which is the legal basis for the implementation of the Task Force's duties and functions in creating a campus environment that is safe, inclusive, and free from violence.

In the future, the PPKPT Task Force targets a significant reduction in the number of violence in the ISI Yogyakarta environment through increasing awareness and active participation of the entire academic community, the availability of complaint mechanisms that are increasingly accessible and victim-friendly, and increasing the capacity of Task Force human resources from the fields of law, counseling, and gender studies. The Task Force is also expected to be able to produce institutional policy recommendations that are responsive and contextual, as well as build a campus culture that firmly rejects all forms of violence.

Through this strategic step, ISI Yogyakarta affirms itself as an arts college that not only excels in creativity and academics, but also upholds human values, safety, and social justice, for the realization of a safe and dignified campus for all academicians.
