Bagus Alviyanto Nugroho, Visual Communication Design Student, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta was chosen as one of the winners of the 2024 Tehbotol Sosro Design Competition held from March 12 to 31. With a design entitled "The Elegance of Pakarena Fan Dance", Bagus Alviyanto Nugroho became one of the winners among 22 selected designs. The design work of Bagus Alviyanto Nugroho and 21 other winners were able to get rid of 1600 other design works that participated in the 2024 Tehbotol Sosro Design Competition.
Pakarena Fan Dance is one type of traditional dance from South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This dance characteristically uses a fan as the main accessory in its performance. The gentle and graceful hand movements and flowing body movements symbolize the natural and cultural beauty of South Sulawesi. Pakarena Fan Dance is often performed in various cultural events, such as weddings, art festivals, or cultural performances, as a symbol of the beauty and elegance of Indonesia's cultural heritage.
In my opinion, Semangat Emas Asli Indonesia symbolizes the spirit to express pride in all things Indonesian. This spirit radiates in various fields, such as sports, arts, culture, education, and self-development. In the realm of arts and culture, this Golden Spirit is reflected in the rich diversity of Indonesian traditional arts, music, dance, and literature, as well as in the efforts to maintain its existence in the midst of globalization. It is hoped that with this work, Indonesian youth will be increasingly moved to preserve Indonesian culture and the Original Golden Spirit.
