ISI Yogyakarta Organizes Technical Guidance on Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence

ISI Yogyakarta held a Technical Guidance on Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Sasana Ajiyasa Building, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. This Technical Guidance was presented by speakers from Rifka Anisa Yogyakarta and attended by all members of the ISI Yogyakarta Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (PPKS). The technical guidance will focus on the preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence within ISI Yogyakarta. This training aims to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the prevention and handling of sexual violence in accordance with the established SOP.

Sexual violence is a serious problem that requires effective handling and prevention. To ensure consistency in the response to sexual violence, there is a need for training that focuses on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The SOP is expected to improve the quality and effectiveness of the response to sexual violence at ISI Yogyakarta.

The training materials will include an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of sexual violence, relevant legal principles, as well as the application of SOPs in various contexts. In addition, the technical guidance will provide practical guidance in designing and integrating SOPs in every stage of case handling, from prevention to rehabilitation. This activity is based on the deep understanding that good SOPs are key in tackling sexual violence and providing adequate protection for victims. Therefore, this training and technical guidance will emphasize the importance of adapting SOPs according to local needs and community dynamics. It is hoped that this activity will make a real contribution to increasing the capacity of Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta to face the challenges of sexual violence. In addition, it is hoped that the updated and refined SOPs can improve the effectiveness of response and protection for victims of sexual violence in accordance with the principles of human rights and applicable legal regulations.
