The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. received 49 students who participated in the Merdeka Student Exchange Program on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the ISI Yogyakarta Concert Hall. The student acceptance procession was also attended by the Head and Head of the Study Program at ISI Yogyakarta. The student reception procession began with singing the Indonesia Raya song, remarks from the Coordinator of the Independent Student Exchange (PMM) ISI Yogyakarta, remarks from the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, dance and marching band presentations and closing.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of the Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) ISI Yogyakarta said that the Merdeka Student Exchange Program is a domestic student exchange program funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology for one semester from one island to another. Students who take part in the Merdeka Student Exchange program at ISI Yogyakarta come from outside Java such as from Sumatra, Manado, Makassar and Sorong. Students who take part in this program learn about diversity through the Nusantara Module, lecture activities, and related activities during exchanges on other campuses.
The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta in his speech said welcome to ISI Yogyakarta and Yogyakarta Province, hopefully by participating in this program students of culture in other regions and increasingly appreciate the diversity that exists on this earth. By participating in this program, students will build nationalism so as to strengthen national unity and integrity. The event was then enlivened by dance performances from students of the Dance Department of ISI Yogyakarta and the appearance of Saraswati Drums Corps.
