Collaboration between three art universities results in stunning artworks

The collaboration of three renowned state art universities in Indonesia successfully organized a multi-ethnic art performance on Saturday night, January 29, 2022 at the Taman Budaya Provinsi NTB. The three state universities of arts that collaborated included Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Denpasar, Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta, and Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia (ISBI) Bandung. The result of this collaboration is the Wadantara Art performance which raises the values of national character education and multiculturalism. Wadantara stands for the performing arts of wayang, drama, karawitan and Nusantara dance.

The story told in this Wadantara art performance is about the palapa oath event which is a task for the Majapahit mahawira Gajah Mada. In it, there was a dramatic event when Gajah Mada met Kebo Iwa on the island of Bali. Where Kebo Iwa made a sacrifice for the unity of the archipelago.

The event was attended by several invited guests, including the Director of Regional Destination Development II of the Deputy for Destination and Infrastructure Development of Kemenparekraf RI, NTB Regional Secretary, Head of NTB Education and Culture Office, Head of Central Lombok Tourism Office, Head of LP2MPP, ISI Denpasar, ISI Yogyakarta, and ISBI Bandung. This Wadantara art performance can not only be watched by invited guests, but can also be witnessed by the general public.
