[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Setelah berproses dengan berbagai pengembangan materi pada Rabu 16 Oktober 2016 di Lynn Hotel, Jalan Jogokaryan, Mantrijeron, Kota Yogyakarta Prof. Drs. Soeprapto Soedjono, MFA, Ph.D meluncurkan buku berjudul “A Photobook Street Scenes Photography” . Buku foto merupakan penggabungan tulisan dan gambar tersebut menampilkan cara pandang sejumlah fotografer, seniman dan akademisi seperti Empu Ageng Oscar Matuloh, Aji Susanto Anom, Brian Arnold, Citra Aryandari, Hermanus Supriatna, Irwandi, Kurniawan Adi Saputro, Prayanto Widyo Harsanto, Sardono W. Kusumo, Suwarno Wisetrotomo dan lain-lain dalam melihat fenomena fotografi jalanan pada masa kini.
In the book launch, the Rector of Instiut Seni Indonesia Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M. Hum argued that through photography humans can redefine their steps after seeing a social development that cannot be separated from the problems arising from the current social media gap. Photography opens the human perspective through visual records that will lead each person to an action to change or not what he will do in the future.

According to Soeprato Soedjono, who is often called Prof. SS, the idea of making the photo book was only a recording of images for 25 years but it turned out to have more meaning than that. A photo book can open up different perspectives from various photographers to give birth to new perspectives on photography. The 272-page photo book that combines theory and visuals was published after the book Pot Pouri Fotografi a few years ago, where the previous book was a collection of various essences of science and photography theory books to be repackaged into theories that are in accordance with the reality of the world of photography in Indonesia.
Books are the entity of the grip and reference of knowledge that is presented in every academic learning and teaching progress so that books that are theoretical and practical studies can be applied directly in daily photography education. For Prof. SS, all his works, both photos and books, are the fruit of diligent reading of books that can provide him with the opportunity to visit various countries on various trips to capture the neat moments in them into a photographic moment.
After the book launch at 10.00 WIB, it was followed by a discussion session 1 with Dr. Citra Aryandari, S. Sn, M.A. lecturer of Ethno Musicology and Pamungkas Wahyu, S. M. Sn. Photography lecturer at Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. In the discussion, the speaker Citra Aryandari discussed if the camera at this time has become a necessity not only a documentation tool because the results of the documentation will record the actual social situation, while according to Pamungkas Wahyu S at this time the idea becomes more important because photojournalism today is not only reporting but lightning-fast social media news must have a full awareness that is more than just reproducing an object into a work that contains the truth of copyright, taste and karsa.
The discussion answered the difference between visual anthropology and street photography because they have different functions and different meanings. Street photography does not control what will be photographed nor does it become a tool of social control but documents what is on the streets as a form of celebrating the freedom of photography. Photos by Prof. SS can tell a moment that is not worth writing about because the harmony of street photos can combine something that is allowed or not as an example of a street that has been installed with signs prohibiting parking but is still used for parking by people who violate it.
The book is expected to enliven the Indonesian photography scene because there are so many photography books and there are still few photography books that discuss theory but this book can combine the two into an interesting discussion to become a new discourse in the field of visual literacy. According to Prof. SS, it is hoped that after the launch of this book, he can work even better and inspire young writers to make interesting and useful photo books.
