About Us
The D4 Music Presentation Study Program (PSD4PM) is the first music vocational study program in Indonesia with a diploma IV level that studies the basic concepts of knowledge and skills, as well as music technology which includes aspects of music theory, instrument/vocal practice, technology applications in the field of music presentation.
Graduate Prospects
PSD4PM graduates are undergraduate music presenters who can be responsible for their professional competence holistically in the affective, cognitive, and psychomotor dimensions. Comprehensive musical competence certainly does not stop at the issue of motor skills alone, but also includes essential skills as a totality of honest expression of intellectual concepts, integrity, ethics, and aesthetics.
Graduate Prospects
The profile of graduates of this Study Program is a graduate music presenter who can work in types of jobs that prioritize the practice of musical skills and musical knowledge, namely;
Knowledge
- Mastering the basic concepts of knowledge, skills, and technology that cover aspects of music theory, instrument/vocal practice, technology applications in the field of music presentation.
- Master the methodology of instrumental/vocal training through the approaches of private instruction classes, recital classes, ensemble classes, repertoire observation, jam session classes, chamber music classes, and live concerts.
- Mastering ways to use music instrument technology optimally and appropriately as a completeness of industrial music studies.
- Mastering instrument/vocal playing techniques at Basic I to Advanced III levels (levels 1-7) as a support for music presentation competencies.
- Mastering arrangement techniques for vocals and instruments in ensemble, band, big band, chamber music.
- Mastering the basics of research methodology to study various phenomena in the field of music presentation.
General Skills
- Able to apply logical, critical, innovative, quality, and measurable thinking in carrying out specific work in their field of expertise and in accordance with the work competency standards of the field concerned.
- Able to show independent, quality, and measurable performance Able to review cases of the application of science and technology that pay attention to and apply humanities values in accordance with their field of expertise in order to produce prototypes, standard procedures, designs or works of art, compile study results in the form of working papers, design specifications or art essays, and upload them on the college website.
- Able to compile the results of the above studies in the form of working papers, design specifications, or art essays and upload them on the college website;
- Able to make appropriate decisions based on standard procedures, design specifications, work safety and security requirements in supervising and evaluating their work;
- Able to maintain and develop networks of cooperation and results of cooperation within and outside the institution;
- Able to be responsible for the achievement of group work results and supervise and evaluate the completion of work assigned to workers under their responsibility;
- Able to conduct a self-evaluation process of the work group under his responsibility, and able to manage learning independently;
- Able to document, store, secure, and retrieve data to ensure validity and prevent plagiarism.
Special Skills
- Have the skills to play instruments or vocals according to grade (Basic Soloist I to Advanced Soloist III) with appropriate methods at least in the form of solo, duet, trio, or ensemble / band and able to apply music accessories, digital music, Midi for musical instruments according to the achievement of the sound characteristics desired by the music presenter.
- Able to present classical music works from various styles, ranging from Renaissance to Contemporary according to grade 1-7 standards (Basic Instrument Practice I to Advanced III) with appropriate learning methods.
- Able to compose song arrangements for instruments and vocals in the form of soloists / with accompaniment, duets, trios, ensembles, bands, big bands according to the principles of music science and apply computer / software tools to write song notation and process instrumental and vocal sounds into arrangement works.
- Able to compile and present musical works in the form of scientific writing;
- Able to play various styles of music, can read sheet music well, can adapt to various types of pop - jazz music
- Able to apply the ability to play music in teaching others individually and in ensembles
