Yogyakarta, February 18, 2026 - ISI Yogyakarta's commitment to expanding the impact of creative education is again realized through community service activities. This time, lecturers from the Faculty of Recording Media Arts ISI Yogyakarta were present at SD Negeri Bantul Timur to share knowledge about the world of content creators with elementary school students.
The activity, which was attended by 86 fifth grade students, presented Ghalif Putra Sadewa, M.Sn., a lecturer from the Photography Study Program, as the main speaker. In a session titled “Becoming a Creative and Responsible Content Creator”, The students are invited to understand that digital media is not just entertainment, but a space for expression that requires creativity, ethics and responsibility.
Through an interactive approach, students were introduced to the basics of content creation, from developing simple story ideas, creating short scripts, to shooting techniques using mobile phones. The material was delivered in easy-to-understand language and accompanied by hands-on practice, so that participants could experience being a content creator for real.
The enthusiasm of the students could be seen from their many questions and enthusiasm when trying to make short videos in groups. In addition to practicing creativity, this activity also encourages teamwork and children's confidence in conveying ideas.
As a follow-up, students will produce their video work independently. The results will be shown in a joint screening activity in the school environment as a form of appreciation for the learning process that has been undertaken.
This activity is part of ISI Yogyakarta's contribution in strengthening digital literacy from an early age and building a creative education ecosystem that is inclusive and has an impact on society. Through collaboration between universities and elementary schools, strengthening the capacity of the younger generation in the digital era can start from school.
