Yogyakarta - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta held a Public Lecture entitled “Apprenticeship Program for Strengthening the Competitiveness of Arts and Creative Economy Human Resources” at the Concert Hall ISI Yogyakarta, Thursday (29/1). This activity presented the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Yassierli, Ph.D. as a guest speaker, with moderator Dr. Trisna Pradita Putra, S.Sos., M.M.
This public lecture was initiated as a campus effort to bridge the needs of the academic world with the world of work through strengthening the apprenticeship ecosystem, including the introduction of the Impact Internship national priority program. ISI Yogyakarta targets the participation of final year students and alumni with an estimated ±450 participants.



In his speech, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta emphasized that apprenticeship is an important part of a real experience-based learning strategy.experiential learningThis forum was held to strengthen job readiness, adaptability, industry literacy, and professional networks of art students and alumni. The main session was presented by the Indonesian Minister of Manpower who highlighted the challenges of employment and the need to increase competence in the midst of global disruption. In the material presented, the Minister emphasized the importance of reskilling and upskilling, This includes technology literacy and AI as amplifiers of human productivity and creativity-not replacements for core creative roles.



The Minister also highlighted the great opportunities for the creative sector in the digital job market. Data in the material shows that the creative & multimedia sector is among the most sought-after fields in the online job market, while demanding professionalism, a portfolio of creative digital skills, understanding of global markets, and the ability to collaborate across cultures.
The public lecture took place in the format of interactive presentations and discussions, accompanied by student entertainment performances and the presentation of souvenirs. The series of events also included the opening with the national anthem, the rector's speech session, the presentation of speakers and questions and answers, and closing.
Through this public lecture, ISI Yogyakarta emphasizes its commitment to expand collaboration across sectors - campus, government, and industry - so that art graduates are not only artistically superior, but also ready to become creative professionals who are resilient, adaptive, and competitive at the national and global levels.
