Yogyakarta, 13 January 2026 - The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FSRD) of Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta organized a series of activities to commemorate ASRI's 76th Anniversary with the theme “Art Connectivity: Faculty of Fine Arts and Design towards World Class University.” This activity is a strategic momentum to strengthen connectivity between campus community, alumni, as well as scientific and creative networks, in line with efforts to improve the institution's reputation at the national and global levels.
The commemoration of ASRI's 76th anniversary is also a form of respect for ASRI's long history as one of the main foundations of art education in Indonesia, which continues to develop into an important part of ISI Yogyakarta. Through a thoroughly designed agenda, FSRD ISI Yogyakarta invites the entire academic community to actively participate in activities that emphasize the value of togetherness, respect for the contributions of predecessors, and strengthening academic identity.
The series of activities begins with the Anjangsana agenda to the residence of FSRD ISI Yogyakarta Duty Retirees which will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 starting at 07.00 WIB until completion. This activity is a form of institutional attention in maintaining cross-generational relationships while strengthening family ties between the academic community and retirees who have contributed to building FSRD ISI Yogyakarta.
The next agenda is the Pilgrimage of ASRI and ISI Yogyakarta figures scheduled for Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 06.30-10.30 WIB. This pilgrimage is carried out as a form of appreciation for the role of ASRI figures in reviving scientific traditions and art practices, as well as laying a strong foundation for the development of fine arts and design in the campus environment.
The peak of the commemoration was held through the ASRI Anniversary Ceremony on Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 10.30-15.00 WIB at the Sasana Ajiyasa Building FSRD ISI Yogyakarta. In this activity, FSRD presented Drs. Suhaji (Retired Lecturer of Craft ISI Yogyakarta) as a resource person, as well as remarks from Heri Pemad as Chair of the ASRI Alumni Association.
Through the theme Art Connectivity, this series of commemorations emphasizes the importance of collaboration, interdisciplinary connections, and strengthening an art ecosystem that is adaptive to the times. FSRD ISI Yogyakarta also emphasizes its commitment in improving the quality of education, research, and practice of art and design in a sustainable manner to support the institution's target towards a World Class University.
FSRD ISI Yogyakarta invites all academicians to attend and be actively involved in the series of activities as part of the celebration of ASRI's long journey, as well as affirming the role of the campus as a space for art, ideas and togetherness to grow.
