Yogyakarta, January 12, 2026 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta reaffirmed its work as a leading arts campus through a proud achievement at the iForte National Dance Competition “Inspirasi Diri” 2026. In the competition held at Ambarukmo Plaza, Yogyakarta, the Wu Light ISI Yogyakarta Group won 1st place in the University category.
Yogyakarta was the first city to kick off the iForte National Dance Competition 2026. A total of 21 selected semifinalist groups performed stunningly, bringing high energy and creativity on stage and showing the great enthusiasm of the younger generation in the world of dance.
This event is not only a competition, but also a space for actualization of creativity that shows that the artistic potential of Indonesian youth continues to grow without limits. The semifinalists' performances also showed an interesting synergy between modern dance and elements of cultural identity, one of which was through the accompaniment of Yura Yunita and Eross Candra's collaboration song.
In the high school category, the first place was won by SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar through the Semata Group. Meanwhile, the victory of ISI Yogyakarta through the Wu Light Group further emphasized the quality of coaching, creativity, and artistic capacity of the ISI Yogyakarta academic community at the national level.
As the grand winner, ISI Yogyakarta's Wu Light Group will represent Yogyakarta and continue the competition to the Jakarta Grand Final stage scheduled to take place in April 2026.
This achievement is expected to further strengthen ISI Yogyakarta's position as a center for performing arts development, as well as encourage students to continue to work, innovate, and excel in various national and international events.
