ISI Yogyakarta's Creative Generation wins 2nd place in Education Digital Poster at LIDM 2025

Yogyakarta, December 8, 2025 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta made another achievement at the national level after one of its teams, Team Binky, won second place in the category of Education Digital Poster in the 2025 Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM) organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek).

The achievement was announced during the peak night of LIDM 2025, which was held at PGRI Adi Buana University (UBAYA) Surabaya on December 1-4, 2025. LIDM itself is an annual national competition that aims to encourage digital literacy, creativity, and innovation of Indonesian students through five competition divisions: Education Digital Technology Innovation, Education Digital Learning Innovation, Education Digital Video, Education Digital Poster, and Microteaching Digital Education.

At ISI Yogyakarta, the series of LIDM activities began on August 1, 2025 through a socialization agenda attended by students from various departments. After the socialization, the campus held an internal selection involving 9 teams from five different divisions:

1 Education Digital Learning Innovation team

1 Educational Digital Video team

5 Education Digital Poster teams

2 Digital Education Microteaching team

All teams were declared qualified to represent ISI Yogyakarta at the national stage and received intensive assistance in the process of preparing the work and uploading it to the official Ministry of Higher Education portal.

After going through a rigorous national selection stage, the jury named three ISI Yogyakarta teams as the top 20 national finalists in each division:

Binky Team: Education Digital Poster

Special Team: Education Digital Poster

Sukatja Team: Microteaching Digital Education

The three teams were invited to take part in the final round and presentation of work at UBAYA with dozens of other finalists from various universities throughout Indonesia. This year, the committee noted an increase in the number of LIDM applicants, especially in the Digital Poster and Digital Video divisions which are the most competitive categories.

ISI Yogyakarta's victory was achieved through a poster titled “Born to Live” by Tim Binky. The poster highlights the phenomenon of early maturation of children due to unsupervised exposure to digital content, which is an important issue in the social and psychological development of Indonesian children.

Combining hyperbole and satire, the poster's visuals depict a baby who appears like an adult figure in a digital space, a critical metaphor for how children in today's gadget era are often “forced to grow up faster” due to the consumption of age-inappropriate content.

Team Binky used a contemporary pop-cult-neutral illustration style to reach out to young audiences and families, while reminding the importance of digital literacy in the household. The poster also reflects the character of the LIDM competition which emphasizes creativity as a means of educational advocacy.

Referring to the official Ministry of Higher Education Saintek website and competition portal kompetisicerdas.kemdiktisaintek.go.id, LIDM 2025 was attended by hundreds of student teams from various public and private universities. This event is a space for student collaboration to present solutions and educational campaigns that are relevant to the development of digital technology in society.

ISI Yogyakarta's Education Digital Poster Division emerged as one of the divisions with the largest number of participants and was judged by a panel of experts from the fields of education, design, technology, and visual communication.

The achievements of the Binky Team and two other ISI Yogyakarta teams that passed the final are proof that ISI Yogyakarta students have superior capacity both in visual creativity, digital literacy, and alignments on crucial social issues.

This success also emphasizes the role of ISI Yogyakarta as an art campus that is adaptive to the development of educational technology and able to compete in national-scale innovation events. With this achievement, ISI Yogyakarta hopes that more students will be motivated to take part in digital innovation competitions, while presenting works that have a broad impact on society.
