ISI Yogyakarta - November 28, 2025, Another proud achievement was made by Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta in the international arena. Students of the Interior Design Study Program of the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) won 1st place and Daniel's Choice Award in the prestigious Daikin Designer Awards 2025. Daikin Designer Awards 2025 is the largest architecture and interior design competition that brings together universities from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
The competition is titled The Biggest Architecture and Interior Design Competition Indonesia X Malaysia, The event is a showcase for students' innovation, creativity, and conceptual ability to respond to contemporary issues through design. With a cross-country scope of participants, this event has become one of the barometers of the quality of design education at the Southeast Asian level.
Of the many teams participating, two teams of Interior Design students, Faculty of Art and Design, ISI Yogyakarta made it to the final round. This is an achievement that has shown the quality of student competence. More proudly, both came home with the title of champion.
Team 1, consisting of
- Shukat Zidane
- Micko Ferdinand Nusadi
- Rahmat Hidayat
won the 1st Winner - Conceptual Interior Design Residential Student through the work “V House.” The design features a thoughtful conceptual approach, innovative space exploration, and an understanding of residential context that is relevant to today's lifestyle.
Meanwhile, Team 2 consists of
- Cindy Aulia Sari
- Ainnur Panji Wijaya
won the Daniel's Choice Award in the same category through its work titled “The Art of Breathing Space.” This concept was appreciated for its ability to combine aesthetics, tranquility of space, and functions that emphasize user comfort.


Both teams were mentored by Mahdi Nurcahyo, S.Sn., M.A., FSRD Interior Design Lecturer and Study Program Coordinator. Serving as Design Advisor, Mahdi provided technical, conceptual, and aesthetic guidance that became the foundation for the success of the students' works in this international competition.
This achievement is not only a pride for students and study programs, but also an affirmation of ISI Yogyakarta's position as the largest and one of the most influential art universities in Indonesia. Success in international competitions is clear evidence of the quality of education, the strength of the curriculum, and the institution's ability to produce graduates who are competent and ready to compete in the global realm.
This achievement is expected to increase motivation for other students and strengthen the reputation of the Interior Design Study Program FSRD ISI Yogyakarta at the national and international levels.


With this achievement, ISI Yogyakarta is optimistic that more young professional designers will be born from the campus environment. The Interior Design Study Program is committed to continuously improving the quality of learning, expanding international cooperation, and opening competition opportunities that provide hands-on experience for students.
Hopefully this achievement will be the first step towards more active participation of ISI Yogyakarta students in various global competitions and become a bridge to the future of Indonesian interior design which is increasingly creative, innovative, and internationally competitive.
