Yogyakarta, November 28, 2025 - As part of the French Cinema Festival 2025 (FSP 2025) series, a French animation film entitled Marona's Fantastic Tale will be screened on the campus of the Faculty of Recording Media Arts (FSMR) ISI Yogyakarta. This event is organized in collaboration between Institut français d'Indonésie (IFI) Yogyakarta and FSMR ISI Yogyakarta at AUVI Room, FSMR ISI Yogyakarta. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that it can present an appreciation of French cinema and enrich the cinematic insights of the student community and the public of Yogyakarta.
Interestingly, the director of “Marona's Fantastic Tale” will be present online (via Zoom), giving the audience - especially students and academicians - the opportunity to dialogue directly about the creative process, visual concept, and philosophy behind the film. After the screening, there will be an interactive discussion session with the creators.
The organizers said that the event is open to the public - students, lecturers, and the general public - and is expected to be an inspiring space, especially for aspiring young filmmakers and film and animation lovers in Yogyakarta.
With the screening and discussion of “Marona's Fantastic Tale”, the 2025 French Cinema Festival presents an international cinematic experience while opening access to creative dialogue between audiences and filmmakers - while strengthening the bonds of cultural cooperation between Indonesia and France through the medium of film.
