Yogyakarta, October 27, 2025 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta and the Government of Panggungharjo Village, Kapanewon Sewon, Bantul Regency, officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the fields of Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi, Campus Impact, and Development of Culturally Independent Regions, located in the VIP Room of the Rectorate Building Lt. 2 ISI Yogyakarta, Monday (27/10/2025).
The signing was done by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., and the Head of Panggungharjo Village, H. Ari Suryanto, S.E., witnessed by the leadership of ISI Yogyakarta and Panggungharjo Village officials. This activity was also attended by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni, Dr. Muhammad Kholid Arif Rozaq, S.Hut., M.M., the deans of the faculties, and the Head of LPPM ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Eli Irawati, S.Sn., M.A.


In his remarks, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., said that this collaboration was a strategic step to strengthen the role of art universities in supporting culture-based development. "ISI Yogyakarta is committed to implementing the Tridharma of Higher Education in the community, through collaborations that have a direct impact, both for institutions and local communities," he said.
Meanwhile, Lurah Panggungharjo, H. Ari Suryanto, S.E., emphasized his hope that ISI Yogyakarta can make the Panggungharjo area, especially the Karangkitri area, an arts and culture laboratory. According to him, the strong social and cultural potential in the area can be a space for students and lecturers of ISI Yogyakarta to organize performances, art exhibitions, and cultural extension activities that empower the community.



"Panggungharjo has a vision as a Cultural Independent Village, and we want this synergy to strengthen the capacity of the community in managing local potential in a sustainable manner. With the presence of ISI Yogyakarta, we hope that art, culture and education activities can be more focused and impactful," he said.
After the signing procession, the activity continued with a discussion of follow-up cooperation led by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni of ISI Yogyakarta, discussing the potential for collaborative programs in the fields of education, research, community service, and the development of Campus Impact activities in the Panggungharjo environment.
In the discussion session, ISI Yogyakarta expressed readiness to support the development of human resources in Panggungharjo Village, both through empowering students and lecturers as well as creative assistance based on art and technology. "ISI Yogyakarta is basically ready to be present and contribute, not only in the form of academic activities, but also in sustainable community empowerment," said the ISI Yogyakarta representative.
This collaboration is a milestone in the synergy between art universities and the kalurahan government, which is expected to become a model of collaboration between universities and cultural villages in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
