Designing Advertising Films with Professional Directors in the Audio Visual Course DKV ISI Yogyakarta

An advertising film director with a number of proud achievements, Ninndi Raras, S.I.Kom., teaches students of Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, Faculty of Art and Design, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta. This activity, which is part of the Independent Campus Competition Program (PKKM), Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia 2024, is carried out in the Teaching Practitioner program in the Audio Visual course for 5th semester students. This Teaching Practitioner class was held within 12 hours on September 2, 5, 9 and 12, 2024.

            Ad films are a form of visual content created by a brand or company with the aim of promoting their brand, brand values, or products. Advertising films focus on creating meaningful and memorable stories or narratives with high appeal. Expertise in making advertising films is one of the competencies that must be possessed by DKV ISI Yogyakarta students so that they can compete in the visual communication industry which continues to grow as digital technology advances. Based on her ability to write scripts, produce and direct advertising films worked on with Aduhai Studio, Ninndi Raras teaches the stages of designing advertising films that are relevant to the needs of today's industry.

            Through this Teaching Practitioner class, students are expected to understand and master the stages of designing advertising films which include overview (description of the brand), Problems (analyzing the problem), unique selling product (product uniqueness and excellence), audience insight (target audience characteristics), Objective (purpose of communication), and big idea (the message to be conveyed). The design of this advertising film is also equipped with interesting storytelling skills that have been mastered by students through Storytelling courses in the previous semester. Through this program, students are expected to compete dynamically in the field of advertising communication, especially audio visual content.
