The Department of Dance held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled "Reorganization of MBKM Implementation and Potential Cooperation with Partners" on July 17, 2024 at Grand Rohan Jogja. The event was attended by various important speakers, including the Head of the DIY Culture Office, Dian Lakshmi Pratiwi, S.S., M.A., renowned musician Lilo KLA Project, and representatives from the Region X Cultural Preservation Center, Winarto, S.S. This activity was carried out in a hybrid manner, where Lilo KLA project attended online and 2 other speakers and FGD participants attended the event offline.
This reorganization was carried out with partners and the World of Business and Industry (DUDI) who have collaborated in the implementation of MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka) at the study program and Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) levels. Through this FGD, the dance study program seeks to gather suggestions for improvement and proposals from partners to improve the joint curriculum. This will help formulate course learning outcomes that are converted through MBKM activities. So far, the dance study program is still collaborating by following the partner's agenda. In the future, activities will be formulated so that study programs and partners proactively jointly formulate activities. The document produced from this FGD will be the procedure for implementing MBKM activities in the dance study program.
The main purpose of this FGD is to improve cooperation and the quality of graduates in the world of work through the implementation of MBKM. With better cooperation, it is expected that graduates of dance study programs can be better prepared to face challenges in the world of work. The result of this FGD will be a draft document of MBKM activities with partners and IA (Industry and Academia).
Some potential collaborations obtained from the FGD are cooperation with the DIY Culture Office in several programs, namely (1) Cultural Village Development through MBKM Building Villages, Independent Projects, Research, and Internships based on the potential of art in the fostered village. (2) Dance Revitalization at Taman Budaya Yogyakarta with MBKM research activities that focus on collecting data on traditional dance and applying for Intangible Cultural Heritage (WBTB). (3) Sonobudoyo activities: Through MBKM internships that focus on tourism. In addition, the potential for cooperation with musician Lilo KLA Project is an Independent Project in the form of making collaborative works for Jogja's birthday with KLA Project songs. Cooperation with the Culture Preservation Center (BPK) Region X is carried out based on several BPK work programs, namely (1) Relief Development Studies through independent project MBKM activities and research, (2) Temple Area Culture Degree: With MBKM internship activities, and (3) Balai Nari Sore with MBKM internship activities.
With these various potential collaborations, it is hoped that the implementation of MBKM in the Dance Department can run better and produce graduates who are competent and ready to enter the world of work.
