ISI Yogyakarta accepts Batch 3 of Independent Student Exchange Program students

The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum., received students participating in the Batch 3 Merdeka Student Exchange (PMM) program, at the ISI Yogyakarta Multipurpose Building, on August 28, 2023. PMM Batch 3 is part of the Merdeka Campus Learning Program initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. The 50 students who participated in PMM at ISI Yogyakarta came from 17 universities outside Java. This program is a student mobility program with funding from LPDP for one semester to gain learning experience at other universities in Indonesia.

This PMM activity opens opportunities for students to take part in the learning process on any university campuses in Indonesia as part of efforts to strengthen and or expand their competencies. In addition, through the PMM program, students are expected to increase their national insight, love for the country, and have an understanding of diversity and tolerance. Students will have a broad understanding of the diversity of cultures, customs, ethnic groups, languages and various potential resources and other potentials owned by the nation and state. Develop intensive encounters and dialog in diversity and mutual understanding so as to create strengthened unity as well as increase understanding of SARA diversity and the spirit of unity.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. advised students to optimize PMM as a means of learning on campus while learning culture from other regions. PMM can be used to train students' ability to adapt to new environments and adaptability is one of the keys to success in the world of work.

The presence of students from various universities will certainly lead to positive interactions between students and between students and lecturers, exchanging experiences and adjusting to each other in academic life and daily life. Strengthening the sense of unity, tolerance in diversity and strengthening each other is certainly the expected goal of this program in creating a superior young generation of Indonesia.
