ISI Yogyakarta through the Center for Career Development and Entrepreneurship held a webinar titled "Development of Soft Skills Students and its Implementation in Teaching and Learning Activities" on Thursday, November 4, 2021. Development Webinar Soft Skills Students are held online at 10:00 to 12:00 WIB. This webinar is organized in an effort to equip ISI Yogyakarta students with soft skills. By organizing this workhop, it is hoped that ISI Yogyakarta students not only have competence in the field of art but also have soft skillsThe knowledge that students have is an asset for them to compete in the world of work.
The implementation of this webinar began with a keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. as the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta. In his presentation Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. conveyed that in preparing superior human resources, ISI Yogyakarta students are not only directed at mastering the creation of works and knowledge of art, but strengthening competence in mastering technology, especially IT, cooperation with the industrial world, and readiness to face disruption of information technology and digitalization is increasingly undoubtedly needed Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. also conveyed the importance of competence in social interaction, communication, economic transactions, production models, soul development entrepreneurshipIn addition, there are also aspects of art and culture that can be supported by mastery of the skills of the arts and culture, and of course on the current discourse or contemporary discourse of art and culture. All of these aspects can be supported by mastery of the following skills social skills and soft skills mature.
The webinar continued with a presentation by resource person Dr. Yuli Fajar Susetyo, Psi., M.Si. from Gadjah Mada University. In this webinar, the resource person delivered an explanation about "Developing Soft Skills Students: A Reflection". In his presentation, he explained that universities not only provide academic competence to students but also competent and competitive in the world of work. To be able to compete in the world of work students need to be equipped with soft skills. Soft skills are individual skills to relate to other people (interpersonal skills) and the ability to self-regulate (personal skills) that are useful for developing and maximizing individual performance (Sailah, 2008). These individual skills can be built and trained so that students have competitiveness in the world of work.
This webinar was hosted by Dra. Daruni, M.Hum., one of the Lecturers of the Dance Department of ISI Yogyakarta. The webinar was attended by more than 150 participants consisting of Yogyakarta lecturers and students. With the implementation of this webinar, it further encourages students to develop their soft skills. To support these student efforts, ISI Yogyakarta lecturers can and create classes that are able to stimulate and encourage the development of soft skills. soft skills students.
