Student of S1 Product Design Study Program, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta, Satria Dwi Laksana won an award Good Design Level 6 KKNI Category Craft-Based Design Solution in Indonesia Industrial Design Student Award (IIDSA) 2021. IIDSA 2021 is an awarding event for product design students in Indonesia organized by the Indonesian Product Design Study Program Forum (ADPII). The implementation of IIDSA 2021 aims to give appreciation to the work produced by Product Design Study Program students and as an effort to improve the achievement of the Main Performance Indicators (KPI) of each member of the Study Program Forum. The awarding will be held online on July 29, 2021.
In this award event, each member of the study program forum is given the opportunity to be able to submit the 3 best works produced during the current semester in the 2020/2021 academic year. In 2021, the S1 Product Design Study Program, FSP ISI Yogyakarta through Satria Dwi Laksana and supervisor Endro Tri Susanto, S.Sn, M,Sn with a work entitled successfully Muimi received an award for the Category Craft-Based Design Solution.
Miumi is an eco-friendly chandelier design work that is placed in restaurants, especially sushi and seafood restaurants. The product name 'miumi' is derived from the modified spelling of the word 'squid'.
The design of this environmentally friendly chandelier is a form of action, reaction, expression, and creation of the designer towards the issue of marine pollution that causes the death of the biota living in it. The use of environmentally friendly materials including bamboo and thatch is also in line with the design idea. These materials were chosen because they are easy to grow in nature with minimal risk of pollution.
The light effect produced from the lamp gives the impression of warmth and a sense of comfort when in the room. The chandelier is designed with three size variations and hung at different heights to produce dynamic levels. In addition, it is also a campaign to maintain and preserve the marine ecosystem so that the variety of marine life can remain sustainable and can continue to be enjoyed.
IIDSA 2021 is a momentum to encourage students and managers of the Product Design Study Program to produce innovative work and provide benefits to society. The existence of the Product Design Program will be increasingly felt by the business world, industry and the general public.
