Alumni of DKV ISI Yogyakarta Enter the Selection Process for the Visual Identity of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence

Yogyakarta, June 26, 2026 — The Indonesian Institute of the Arts (ISI) Yogyakarta invites its academic community and the general public to show their support for Kanda Putra, an alumnus of Visual Communication Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at ISI Yogyakarta, in the selection process for the Visual Identity for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence. Kanda Putra, a designer from Denpasar, is one of the designers involved in the national visual identity selection process with his work titled “Connected Humanity.” This work promotes the idea of Indonesia as a nation built on equal human relationships, mutual strengthening, and collective progress amidst diversity.

Kanda Putra's visual identity is inspired by the humanitarian values found in the Second Principle of Pancasila. Through the abstraction of Asta Cita values, the work translates Indonesia's six aspects of interconnectedness: national identity, vision, society, living space, togetherness, and culture. This concept represents how Indonesia grows through diverse, interconnected identities working towards a common goal.

The involvement of ISI Yogyakarta alumni in the process of designing this national visual identity is one proof of the contribution of art and design education in the strategic space of the nation. As an art higher education institution, ISI Yogyakarta continues to encourage the birth of artists, designers, creators, and cultural actors who are capable of presenting meaningful, contextual, and impactful works for society.

Support for Kanda Putra's work is also a form of appreciation for the achievements of ISI Yogyakarta alumni who continue to contribute to the development of Indonesia's creative ecosystem. Through design work, ISI Yogyakarta alumni are not only present in the realm of aesthetics but also participate in building the nation's visual narrative.

In this design process, Kanda Putra served as Lead Designer alongside a creative team consisting of Kadek Bagaskarra as Art Director, Bagus Ghaffar and Ahmad Nabil as Graphic Designers, Whitecoco as Motion Designer, Jerome Gabe as Music Composer/Producer, and Boho as Photographer.

ISI Yogyakarta invites academics, alumni, partners, and the public to cast their votes via the official link: https://logohutri.istanapresiden.go.id/

This support is expected to be a positive energy for the creative works of the nation's children, as well as strengthening the role of ISI Yogyakarta alumni in making real contributions to Indonesia.
