“ISI Yogyakarta has an academic and cultural responsibility to open up art education as broadly as possible for the younger generation of Indonesia. This cooperation with the East Kalimantan Provincial Government is part of a joint effort in preparing competent human resources in art and culture with character, who are capable of making real contributions to the region,” he said.
Through this collaboration, ISI Yogyakarta will play a role in providing facilities and academic support for the scholarship recipients. Additionally, ISI Yogyakarta will also verify the academic and administrative data of the students, monitor academic progress, and report on the study progress of the beneficiaries to the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan.
Meanwhile, the East Kalimantan Provincial Government plays a role in determining beneficiaries, paying for educational assistance, and monitoring the assistance program. This scheme shows institutional synergy between local governments and higher education institutions in supporting educational development, competency development, and improving the skills of the younger generation.
Head of the Bureau of Public Welfare of the Regional Secretariat of East Kalimantan Province, Dr. Dasmiah, S.Pd., M.AP., conveyed that this cooperation is part of the commitment of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government to expand higher education opportunities for the people of the region, especially in the fields of art and culture.
“The East Kalimantan Provincial Government views arts education as an important part of human and cultural development. Through this collaboration, students are expected to gain better learning opportunities, develop their potential, and eventually contribute back to society and the region.

This educational cost assistance program is also aimed at increasing students' motivation, competence, and skills so they can become skilled workers needed by the region. After completing their education, students are expected to be able to make positive contributions to the community through their work, services, and strengthening of culture in their respective environments.
For ISI Yogyakarta, this cooperation reinforces the campus's strategic role as a center for education, creation, study, and development of art. The collaboration with the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan will not only impact educational financing but also open broader opportunities for strengthening academic networks, developing regional culture, and enhancing the contribution of art higher education to national development.
This collaboration also serves as proof that arts education holds an important position in the development of Indonesian human resources. Art is not only understood as an aesthetic expression but also as a force of culture, identity, creativity, and social diplomacy that can strengthen the competitiveness of regions and the nation.
With the signing of this cooperation and strategic discussion, ISI Yogyakarta further strengthens its position as an art higher education institution that actively builds networks with local governments, opens access to education for the younger generation, and makes real contributions to the development of Indonesian art and culture.
