ISI Yogyakarta-Hochschule Hannover International Collaboration Creates World-Class Creative Talents

Yogyakarta, March 25, 2026 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta reaffirmed its position as an international class art university through the implementation of Design Thinking Workshop 2026, It is the result of a strategic collaboration with Hochschule Hannover, Germany. It is a cross-cultural learning space that integrates creativity, innovation and empathy-based design approaches.

The workshop, which will take place on May 4-13, 2026 at ISI Yogyakarta, features an international facilitator, Prof. Dr. (HC) Gunnar Spellmeyer, a design expert from Hochschule Hannover. For nine days, participants will engage in an explorative process that combines the theory and practice of design thinking, including field trips to inclusive communities and art galleries in Yogyakarta.

This activity not only strengthens students' academic competence, but also opens up space for global interaction through collaboration with international students. Approach design thinking It emphasizes empathy-based problem solving, creativity, and innovation-key competencies in the development of future creative industries.

As part of the commitment Impactful Campus, ISI Yogyakarta presents this program to encourage students to be able to respond to social issues through a solutive and inclusive design approach. Visits to communities such as orphanages and art spaces are an important part of building social sensitivity while expanding participants' creative perspectives.

Participant registration opens on March 25 to April 5, 2026, with the selection process to be held on April 8, 2026. This program is specifically intended for active ISI Yogyakarta students from the Interior Design, Product Design, Visual Communication Design, and Media Design Study Programs, at least fourth semester.

The criteria for participants include communication skills in English, the ability to work in a team, self-confidence, and full commitment to follow the entire series of activities. The limited quota of participants makes this program an exclusive opportunity for selected students to develop their global capacity.

Through this program, ISI Yogyakarta not only expands its international network, but also strengthens its role as a center of excellence for arts education that is adaptive to global developments. Collaboration with renowned institutions such as Hochschule Hannover is clear evidence of ISI's commitment to providing innovative, relevant and impactful arts education.
