Yogyakarta, January 26, 2026 - Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta officially announced the winners of the Waini Vol.6 Illustration Competition which is part of the Waini Vol.6: International Student Animation Festival series. This event is a forum for appreciation as well as strengthening the ecosystem of student creativity and the younger generation in the fields of animation and illustration.
After a thorough and objective assessment process conducted by the jury, the best works were selected as the main winners. The first place was won by the work titled PLANET(HEART)RIUM by Gabriel Joshep Daniel Maris (@gasephu_), which is considered capable of presenting the euphoria of creation with an honest, emotional, and meaningful visual approach.


Second place was won by What Could Happen in One Frame by Ahmad Zein (@zeinmusawa), showcases the dynamics of creativity across mediums in one strong and harmonious visual frame.


Meanwhile, the 3rd place was won by Whimsical Battle in the Digital World by Almira Anindita Nuurunnajwa (@astrw_bry), which tells an imaginative narrative about human creativity amid the development of digital technology.


In addition to the main categories, the committee also determined the 1st Favorite Champion for the work of Create Your Own Path Through Imagination by Syalssa Ula Ridhatul Jannah (@syalssa_ula_), as well as the 2nd Favorite Champion for the work Even Mascots Can Inspire Us! by Samantha Nofell Agitha (@kyafein). Judging the favorite category is based on visual appeal, strength of message, and positive response from the audience.

The jury also gave appreciation through the Honourable Mention category to five works, namely Mind Blow by Ninda Zahrani Pashadana (@zombieoffender), Imartjinasi Park by Khoirul Aribah (@_leriear), Infinite Imagery by Zifen Azkia Zinka (@ikanfaus_hus), The Singing Sketch by Bayu Aditya Nugroho (@b44yun), and Beyond the Machine by Nasywa Aurelie Arfandy (leeastic).
The organization of the Waini Illustration Competition Vol.6 emphasizes ISI Yogyakarta's commitment to encouraging the birth of creative talents who are adaptive, innovative, and ready to take part at the national and international levels. Through this festival, ISI Yogyakarta continues to strengthen its role as a center for the development of art, animation, and academic-based creative industries.
The organizers expressed their appreciation to all participants who had participated and invited students and creative communities to continue to follow the series of Waini Vol.6 activities, which will still present various agendas and spaces for art collaboration at the international level.
