Yogyakarta, December 19, 2025 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta received a visit from the Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), Prof. Togar Mangihut Simatupang, M.Sc., Ph.D., at the Rectorate Building of ISI Yogyakarta, in the context of friendship as well as strategic discussions regarding strengthening the existence of higher education.
The visit was welcomed directly by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., the heads of bureaus and the leadership in the rectorate. The meeting took place in a warm and dialogical atmosphere, reflecting a shared commitment to encourage the role of art universities in making a real contribution to society, nation and state.
In the discussion, various strategic issues were discussed, including strengthening the role of ISI Yogyakarta as an art campus that is adaptive to the challenges of the times, increasing the relevance of the tridharma of higher education, and developing an academic ecosystem that has social, cultural and economic impacts. ISI Yogyakarta emphasizes its position as an art higher education institution that is not only oriented towards academic and artistic excellence, but also to a real contribution to culture-based national development.
The Secretary General of Kemdiktisaintek appreciated the role and achievements of ISI Yogyakarta in developing contextual and impactful arts education. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities, government, and other stakeholders in creating innovations and higher education practices that are responsive to community needs.
Through this meeting, ISI Yogyakarta affirmed its commitment to continue to strengthen campus transformation towards an impactful campus, by integrating creativity, science, and cultural values in every aspect of the implementation of the tridharma of higher education. This visit is expected to be a strategic step in strengthening the synergy between ISI Yogyakarta and Kemdiktisaintek to support sustainable national higher education policies.
