ISI Yogyakarta Welcomes Affirmation (Cooperation) Students from Timor Leste Government

ISI Yogyakarta, October 24, 2025 - Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta organized today Acceptance and Explanation of Administrative and Academic Technicalities for students receiving affirmation scholarships (cooperation) between the Government of Timor Leste and ISI Yogyakarta. The event took place in Meeting Room 1, 3rd floor Rectorate Building, and was attended directly by the leadership of ISI Yogyakarta and the official delegation of the Government of Timor Leste.

This activity was opened with remarks from the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn.which emphasizes ISI Yogyakarta's commitment as an international class art college that continues to expand its network of academic cooperation across countries. "This program is a clear proof of ISI Yogyakarta's contribution in strengthening cultural diplomacy and art education in the Southeast Asia region," he said.

The Timor Leste delegation in attendance was led by Hermenegildo da Silva, along with a number of technical officials from the Fundo de Desenvolvimento do Capital Humano (FDCH). A total of eight Timor Leste students were officially accepted through a procession of alma mater coats, marking the start of their studies in various study programs, including Ethnomusicology (1 student), Arts Governance (3 students), Master of Arts (2 students), and Master of Arts Management (2 students) at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. After the acceptance ceremony, the activity continued with a technical discussion session that included explanations about administration and academic guidance. Through this activity, ISI Yogyakarta emphasizes its position as an arts education institution that not only excels academically, but also actively strengthens relations between nations through arts and culture. This collaboration is expected to be a strategic step in building a generation of artists and art managers who have a global outlook and are rooted in cultural values.
