ISI Yogyakarta, Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta organizes Technical Guidance (Bimtek) Establishment of Business Unit Organization on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Ajiyasa Room, Faculty of Art and Design. This activity is a strategic step in the program Revitalization of State Universities (PTN) towards strengthening financial governance and increasing the competitiveness of art institutions at the national and international levels.
This guidance was attended by the Rector, Vice Rectors, Deans, Postgraduate Directors, Heads and Coordinators of Study Programs, as well as Heads of Executive Units and Bureaus within ISI Yogyakarta. Present as speakers T.M. Zakir Sjakur Machmud, M.Ec., Ph.D. (Director of Management and Development of Business Units at the University of Indonesia) and Teguh Eko Winiharto, ST., MM., who explained the strategy for the formation and management of business units in universities based on Public Service Agency (BLU).
The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta in his speech emphasized that the establishment of the Business Unit is an important part of efforts to realize institutional independence and improve higher education art services. "This step is not only about asset management, but also about how art campuses are able to provide added value, have an impact on society, and strengthen ISI's reputation in the global arena," he said.
This Bimtek activity is part of the implementation of the ISI Yogyakarta 2020-2024 Business Strategic Plan within the framework of transformation towards PTN-BLU. Through the establishment of Business Units, ISI Yogyakarta encourages the development of services in ten potential areas, including Edutourism, Entertainment & Performing Arts, Rental of Facilities and Infrastructure, Art Training and Certification, Artwork Production, Digital and Creative Media Services, and Business Incubation and Assistance for Art MSMEs.

The activity coordinator, Reza Ginandha Sakti, M.Sn., said that this activity not only strengthened the understanding of unit leaders and managers, but also became a forum for mapping the potential of sustainable campus businesses. "With professional and accountable management, the ISI Yogyakarta Business Unit is expected to become a driving force for the creative economy rooted in the richness of Indonesian art and culture," he said.
