The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. attended the Consolidation and Direction of the Governor of Yogyakarta held at Bale Kenyo, Kepatihan Complex Yogyakarta, Sunday evening, August 31, 2025. The event was attended by the Deputy Governor of Yogyakarta, KGPAA Paku Alam X, Pj. Secretary of Yogyakarta Aria Nugrahadi, a number of heads of OPDs within the Yogyakarta Regional Government and leaders of 10 universities in Yogyakarta. In this event, the Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X gave directions to the leaders of the ten universities regarding the current conditions in Yogyakarta.
The university leaders who attended the coordination and direction event from the Governor of Yogyakarta included leaders from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta State University (UNY), Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University (UIN), Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta (UPN), Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI), Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University (UAJY), Sanata Dharma University (USD), and Amikom Yogyakarta University.
On this occasion, Sri Sultan emphasized the importance of maintaining the value of democracy in Yogyakarta in a polite and peaceful manner. "Aspirations can be conveyed, it is the right of every citizen. However, I hope that the delivery of aspirations is still done properly, politely, and not with violence. This is what reflects the democratization of Jogja," said Sri Sultan.
The governor also asked university leaders to help direct students not to be easily provoked. According to him, students and students still have the main obligation in pursuing education.
