Introducing Stamps to Gen Z, ISI Yogyakarta Holds The Little Things International Exhibition

ISI Yogyakarta through the Fine Arts Study Program organized an international exhibition entitled "The Little Things: Stamp Reimagined" on August 28 - September 11, 2025, at Fadjar Sidik Gallery, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, ISI Yogyakarta. This exhibition, visitors can see 250 stamp design works from students, students, artists from within and outside the country as well as stamp collections from PT Pos Indonesia and the Indonesian Philatelic Association.

The exhibition "The Little Things : Stamp Reimagined" was organized in response to last year's international exhibition on postcards titled "Hello There : Postcard Reconstruction". The high public interest in visiting the exhibition encouraged the Fine Arts Study Program to organize an exhibition with a similar theme.

This exhibition seeks to respond to how communication media that were once an important part of the development of the times seem to disappear and are no longer recognized, especially by the younger generation. By looking at, re-imagining and responding to the meaning of stamps, it is hoped that it will be able to revive, introduce and reflect on the function of stamps now and in the future.

"The exhibition is organized to introduce stamps as a means of communication in the past to today's young generation or popularly known as Gen Z, many of whom are not familiar with stamps," said Satrio Hari Wicaksono, M.Sn. as Head of the Department of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta and curator of the exhibition. Through the open call and stamp design competition held in conjunction with this cast, it is hoped that it will be able to introduce stamps as a medium of communication that can connect humanity from various parts of the world to the younger generation.

The exhibition is open to the general public and is free of charge. Let's appreciate the artwork of students and artists in stamp format by visiting "The Little Things: Stamp Reimagined" Exhibition.
