ISI Yogyakarta continues to be committed to implementing the Campus Impact Program rolled out by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek). The manifestation of this commitment is by organizing a workshop on the conservation of the Affandi Museum collection which will be held on 24 to 25 July 2025, at the Sasana Ajiyasa Building, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ISI Yogyakarta. With this workshop, it is hoped that the Affandi Museum collection can continue to survive and be safely accessed by the public.
"Currently, collection conservation is still a serious problem faced by museums and art galleries in the country" said Muhamad Sholahuddin, S.Sn., M.T, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ISI Yogyakarta. The problems faced by museums and art galleries encourage the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ISI Yogyakarta to organize a two-day conservation workshop.
In organizing this conservation workshop, ISI Yogyakarta collaborates with Cheng Shui University. This international partner of ISI Yogyakarta from Taiwan is known as a university that has an Art Conservation Study Program and modern art conservation technology support. Lecturers of the Art Conservation Study Program will become mentors for lecturers of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design ISI Yogyakarta and Affandi Museum managers in conducting painting conservation. This workshop increases the competence of lecturers and managers of Affandi Museum so that they are able to carry out conservation properly and correctly.
Prior to the conservation workshop, a ceremonial signing ceremony was held. complementary agreement related to student exchange. With the signing of this document, it is expected to increase the number of students who take part in student exchange programs at ISI Yogyakarta or at Cheng Shui University. Previously last year ISI Yogyakarta had sent 4 students to join the student exchange program at Cheng Shui University.
ISI Yogyakarta continues to be committed to collaborating with international organizations and universities. This collaboration is expected to realize ISI Yogyakarta as a world-class arts university and support the implementation of the Campus Impact Program.
