The Yogyakarta Special Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN DIY) had an audience with the leadership of ISI Yogyakarta on July 21, 2025, in the VIP Meeting Room of the Rectorate of ISI Yogyakarta. The delegation of KADIN DIY led by Robby Kusumaharta was received by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn., and the ranks of ISI Yogyakarta leadership. This audience aims to discuss the cooperation agenda of the two institutions and the preparation of cooperation documents.
The meeting, which lasted almost 2 hours, discussed various potential collaborations such as increasing human resource capacity, supporting SMEs and supporting ISI Yogyakarta to strengthen the competitiveness and creativity of the creative industry in Yogyakarta. This collaboration is expected to be able to strengthen the role of ISI Yogyakarta as a center for the development of arts and culture, while encouraging active contribution in the development of the creative economy in Yogyakarta.
"ISI Yogyakarta consists of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Faculty of Performing Arts, Faculty of Media Arts and Postgraduate Program which has creative human resources to support the growth of the creative industry in Yogyakarta" said Dr. Irwnadi, M.Sn. when giving a speech. He further said that lecturers and students produce extraordinary works but we have difficulty marketing these works so that partnering with KADIN DIY can be a solution.
No different from the statement delivered by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. M. Kholid Arif Rozaq, S.Hut., M.M as Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Cooperation, and Alumni argued that "Lecturers and students of ISI Yogyakarta have an extraordinary concept of work and outside the concept, unfortunately the work stops at the final project or research report stored on campus".
The presence of KADIN DIY is a breath of fresh air to overcome the problems faced by ISI Yogyakarta. According to Robby Kusumaharta as Deputy Chairman of Organization & Membership of KADIN DIY, "ISI Yogyakarta acts as a product creator or designer and we at KADIN DIY will try to find the market". He also said that other collaborations that can be done include internships in the industrial world, certification and increasing student competence through teaching factories.
Through this partnership, ISI Yogyakarta and KADIN DIY are committed to building synergies between the world of higher education and the business world in order to encourage wider innovation and empowerment of creative human resources in the future.
