Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Yogyakarta again provides a space for art appreciation by holding a solo exhibition with the theme "Lelaku Neges Serah Sareh" by Indiria Maharsi. The exhibition was officially opened on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 14.00 WIB at the Prof. But Muchtar Art Gallery, ISI Yogyakarta Postgraduate Campus, Jalan Suryodiningratan No. 8, Mantrijeron, Yogyakarta. The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Manager of the Doctoral Program, ISI Yogyakarta Postgraduate Program, fellow ISI Yogyakarta lecturers, ISI Yogyakarta Postgraduate students, families and invited guests.
The exhibition "Lelaku Neges Serah Sareh" was opened by Octavianus Cahyono Priyanto, Ph.D, (Doctoral Program Manager, Postgraduate Program ISI Yogyakarta) who also appreciated the depth of ideas and artistic expression in Indiria Maharsi's works. According to Octavianus Cahyono Priyanto, Ph.D, "This exhibition displays the works in Indiria Maharsi's dissertation and the works displayed not only reflect her artistic competence, but also the results of the artist's spiritual reflection".
This solo exhibition features visual works of wayang beber that are interrelated. The works are the result of the artist's Lelaku Neges Serah Sareh towards wayang beber. The works on display show how spirituality affects the quality of the visual works produced.
"In the context of the research, the creator applies Lelaku Neges Serah Sareh through the spirituality of wayangbebearan. How wayang beber and all that surrounds it is able to bring the creator to find identity as a person and identity in the form of works of art," said Indiria Maharsi.
The exhibition runs for three days, on July 18, 19 and 21, 2025, and is open to the public from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The art community, academics, students, and the general public are invited to attend and enjoy these meaningful works, as a form of support for the development of Indonesian contemporary art.
