Postgraduate Program students from one of the universities from Thailand, Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) attended a musical workshop held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Karawitan Department of ISI Yogyakarta. The workshop was taught by lecturers of the Department of Karawitan ISI Yogyakarta such as Dra. Sutrisni, M.Sn., Dr. I Ketut Ardana, M.Sn., Dr. Raharja, S.Sn., M.M., Anon Suneko, M.Sn., Marsudi, S.Kar., M.Hum and Setya RKJ., S.Sn., M.Sn.. The workshop began with a welcome from the Head of Karawitan Department Dr. Asep Saepudin, S.Sn., M.A.
In this workshop there were three main materials given, namely rebab, vocals and other gamelan instruments. Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) students were very enthusiastic about the material presented by the lecturers. The expertise and English language skills of ISI Yogyakarta Karawitan lecturers make it easy for Postgraduate Program Students from Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) to receive the material presented.
The workshop was held as a form of implementation of cooperation between the two universities as well as improving the competence of playing gamelan for Srinakharinwirot University Postgraduate students. Last year, the delegation of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta attended a traditional dance and music workshop at Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) and this year one of ISI Yogyakarta's cooperation partners made a return visit.
