Varta Sarasvati The inaugural edition comes amidst the proud achievements of ISI Yogyakarta in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2025, as the best arts institution in Indonesia for two main categories: Performing Arts and Art & Design. This ranking not only strengthens ISI Yogyakarta's reputation in the international arena, but also becomes a reflective and affirmative moment for the dedication of the academic community in the fields of education, research, service, and art creation.
As a higher education institution, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta must maintain competition in the global arena. The leap in academic quality and the design of the education system must always be improved in order to maintain its reputation and be able to improve the image of ISI Yogyakarta as the oldest superior, creative and innovative art higher education institution.
Varta Sarasvati is a bilingual magazine with the slogan: Cipta, Citra, Cendekia. Varta Sarasvati presents 10 sections in each quarterly issue. The ten sections are: MAIN LARAS: is a rubric that will discuss issues of higher education, higher education in the arts and the achievements of ISI Yogyakarta. The main report is expected to spark further discussion and be at the forefront. SARASVARTA: is a rubric that contains phenomena and news that have a strong value for the image of ISI Yogyakarta. SARASVARTA accommodates three faculties under ISI Yogyakarta to be able to convey their perspectives and achievements. GEMA SARASVATI: contains news and profiles related to the track record and achievements of ISI Yogyakarta alumni.
SOROT UPA (Academic Support Unit), this is a rubric that contains news related to the programs and achievements of UPA-UPA at ISI Yogyakarta. Next, PADMA CENDEKIA. Padma Cendekia is a rubric with the specialty of discussing the academic achievements of the ISI Yogyakarta academic community which has a direct impact on ISI Yogyakarta as an art higher education institution. SUARASA is an open rubric for the audience. Audiences can send writings to the editor to respond to various phenomena around the world of higher education, arts and culture. The writing that goes through the SUARASA rubric will go through the selection and editing stage of the editor. Furthermore, there is the CITRA KARYA rubric, this rubric contains reviews of innovative outputs born by the ISI Yogyakarta academic community. The editor also provides a special rubric for student achievements.
Through the rubric: COPYWORK: This section facilitates the best works, as well as the works of competition winners. The editor will compile and select to be published in the Varta Sarasvati publication. DATA SPACE rubric. Among some of the previous rubrics, DATA ROOM will present infographics related to achievements and activities at ISI Yogyakarta. Finally, the editorial team will present the rubric: SIAR SARASVATI. This rubric is a collection of information obtained from all entities under ISI Yogyakarta. Compile information related to the next three months of activities from each HMJ, Study Program and UPA-UPA, so that it can be known by the audience and partners. This aims to open up opportunities for future cooperation.
