Students from the United States, precisely from Warren Wilson College, attended the Traditional Dance Workshop at the ISI Yogyakarta Dance Department on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Dance Hall of the Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yoggyakarta. Warren Wilson College is one of the private art colleges in Swannanoa, North Calonina, America. This Tradition Dance Workshop was taught by Drs. Daruni, M.Sn. and Dra. Tutik Winarti, M.Hum.
A total of 16 students and 2 accompanying lecturers attended the traditional dance workshop in order to be able to practice Yogyakarta style dance and understand the meaning of each dance movement. However, in this workshop, students from Warren Wilson College were not only taught movements and understanding the philosophy of dance movements, but also taught how to use Yogyakarta style dance costumes.
Participants of the dance workshop from the United States were very enthusiastic in following every material presented by two lecturers of the Dance Department of ISI Yogyakarta. The reputation of the Department of Dance ISI Yogyakarta seems to be a magnet for foreign universities to conduct study aroad to ISI Yogyakarta.


Traditional dance workshop process
