ISI Yogyakarta supports the formation of the Consortium of Creative Economy Universities initiated by the Ministry of Creative Economy. This support was realized by the participation of the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta in the Forum Group Discussion on the formation of a consortium at the University of Indonesia on Wednesday, January 22, 2024. The formation of the consortium is needed to actively involve universities in the development of the creative economy in the country. The collaboration of the Ministry of Creative Economy and universities will provide benefits for the advancement of the creative economy.
The Minister of Creative Economy as well as the Head of the Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia stated that "many policies need to be decided based on research. For this reason, the role of universities in this collaboration is very strategic". Universities hold many research results with this collaboration expected to optimize the results of their research in the development of the creative economy. Research-based policies certainly have greater potential for successful implementation.
Along with the FDG, an MOU was also signed between Universitas Indonesia and the Deputy for Strategic Development of Creative Economy, Ministry of Creative Economy. This ceremony is evidence of the seriousness of the Ministry of Creative Economy to collaborate with universities. Representatives from President University, Parahyangan University and Jakarta Institute of Arts were also present.
