Implementation of ISI Yogyakarta Cooperation with Madiun Regency Government for Regional Potential Development

ISI Yogyakarta and the Madiun Regency Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding in July 2024. As an initial step in implementing the collaboration, the ISI Yogyakarta delegation visited Madiun on August 7, 2024. During this visit the ISI Yogyakarta delegation was led by Dr. Dewanto Sukirtono, M.Sn. as Vice Rector I and accompanied by the Dean of ISI Yogyakarta and ISI Yogyakarta LPPM staff. The delegation was received by Indra Setyawan, SE, M.Si (Head of the Department of Trade, Cooperatives and Micro Enterprises) and Anang Sulistijono, S.Sos.M.Si (Head of the Department of Youth and Sports) and their staff.

The visit of the ISI Yogyakarta delegation was carried out on several regional superior potentials, namely the Dongkrek Folk Performance Art performed by the Satria Manggala Mejayan group, the Gembol Jati Manunggal Saradan Association and the Madiun Regency Artists Association, the Sumber Bening Saradan Reservoir Tourism Object, and Batik Crafts managed by the Madiun Regency Batik Association.

Vice Rector I of ISI Yogyakarta in his speech said that, "Through this visit, the ISI Yogyakarta Delegation conducted an initial inventory of the development potential of creative economic products and traditional arts in Madiun Regency such as batik, processed teak wood waste and various performing arts that were staged". Furthermore, he emphasized "After visiting ISI Yogyakarta through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), ISI Yogyakarta will provide suggestions for its development. ISI Yogyakarta academics will be involved to develop regional potential in Madiun Regency through research and community service program schemes, one of which is the Program Pembinaan and Development of Art Areas or more popularly known as P3Wilsen ".

P3Wilsen is one of the leading community service programs from the ISI Yogyakarta campus. Through this program, ISI Yogyakarta has been able to make a real contribution to improving the welfare of the community. ISI Yogyakarta plans to send students and lecturers to develop the artistic potential of art and business actors in Madiun Regency. This program is carried out for one month involving ISI Yogyakarta lecturers and students who will provide guidance and development of creative actors in Madiun Regency. Hopefully, the collaboration between ISI Yogyakarta and the Madiun Regency Government can increase the added value of MSME creative products from Madiun Regency.
