Open Studio of Painting Lecturer ISI Yogyakarta

In the academic realm, recording the process of creating a work is interesting and important to be observed, recorded, and studied in depth. Especially when research-based art has been explored in recent decades. The method of creation is often a unique way for artists to be creative in producing works, so we often find that one artist's method is different from other artists. Although personal, it is not impossible for the method to be used as a reference by other artists, which is why the process of dialog and recording is quite significant to do.

Departing from this situation, the team of painting lecturers at ISI Yogyakarta tried to open a 'discussion' space as part of the educational process by conducting an Open Studio. This activity is expected to be a forum for lecturers to share and discuss openly about the personal process in producing a painting. The public can see the beginning of the anxiety that is the basis for the formulation of the theme, the visual construction carried out, the choice of medium until the execution into paintings. In addition, accompanying the Open Studio, an exhibition titled 'Riwayat' will also be held as an effort for the public to see the track record and recognize the context of the narrative that is often built by lecturers to produce works such as those carried out in this Open Studio.

The Open Study and opening of the exhibition entitled 'Riwayat' will be conducted by Dr. Miftahul Munir, M.Hum. as the Head of the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta on July 27, 2024, at 16.00 WIB, at the Painting Studio, Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Fine Arts, ISI Yogyakarta.
