In 2023, PSA held PSA 1 for the first time.st Photo Gathering (PSA-PG) in Jaisalmer, India, in February 2023. This activity was attended by 113 participants from 13 countries. In 2024, it was finally decided to hold PSA 2.nd Photo Gathering (PSA-PG) at ISI Yogyakarta, Indonesia. According to Agatha Anne Bunantha (International Relationships Vice President PSA Director of the Art Photography of Indonesia Foundation) ISI Yogyakarta is the largest art institution in Indonesia which has experience in holding various exhibitions both on a national and international scale, especially photography exhibitions in Indonesia. Hoping that this exhibition will open insights and motivate the younger generation / students to be more creative in their work. This exhibition also introduces photographers from the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta to the international community. PSA hopes that this collaboration will open up networking and cooperation and wider opportunities in the international world both for the ISI Yogyakarta academic community.
The presence of 210 works from PSA, 20 works by Photography Study Program lecturers, and 27 works by Photography Study Program students is certainly an extraordinary achievement for us, an art campus that is committed to increasing recognition as a world-class campus. on this occasion I also want to say, that currently ISI Yogyakarta is in the ranks of the 100 QS World University Ranking for the subject of Art and Design and the subject of Performing Art. This event will certainly have a significant impact on the ranking. The appearance of audiovisual works from the Film and Television Study Program, Animation Study Program and Film and Television Production Study Program in this event is also an enrichment of the content of the works displayed. With the hope of being able to broaden the horizons and imagination of all of us through the richness of works of art from various parts of the world.
This moment was welcomed by the Photography Study Program, FSMR, ISI Yogyakarta because it could be a leap to be present in the international photography scene besides that with this moment the institution hopes that it can be done every year to be followed by lecturers, students and colleagues. The exhibition which was attended by various photographers from around the world directly lecturers, students, and colleagues can learn what works are currently becoming trends or trends that are developing in the world.
