The Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. received an audience of artists from Cardiff, England, Andrew Bolton and the Chairperson of Jogja Disability Arts, Sukri Budi Dharma, S.Psi, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in the VIP Room of the Rectorate of ISI Yogyakarta, at 13.00 WIB until completion. On this occasion Andrew Bolton and Sukri Budi Dharma, S.Psi. were accompanied by Warsono, S.Sn., M.A. as the Head of UPT Galeri R.J. Katamsi ISI Yogyakarta. The purpose of this audience, to convey the mascud of Andrew Bolton's arrival to ISI Yogyakarta and to Yogyakarta and convey the collaboration plan between Jogja Disability Arts, Galeri R.J. Katamsi and the Department of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta.
In this Audience, Warsono, S.Sn., M.A. said that the purpose of Andrew Bolton's visit to ISI Yogyakarta and Yogyakarta was to carry out a mural project in Kampung Dolanan, Panggungharjo Village and organize an exhibition at Fadjar Sidik Gallery, Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. Furthermore, Warsono, S.Sn., M.A. said that Andrew Bolton's visit this time was a return visit after last year the Head of UPT Galeri R.J. Katamasi ISI Yogyakarta visited Cardiff with funding from the British Council. I have brought several works of artists from Cardiff to be exhibited in Yogyakarta and I ask for the willingness of the Rector to open the exhibition, said Andrew Bolton.
Sukri Budi Dharma, S.Psi. added that the art exhibition by Andrew Bolton and his colleagues from Cardiff will be added with works by disabled and non-disabled artists from the country. The exhibition will be framed in a project called Artrasa Festival. Artrasa Festival will present various forms of art, including visual art exhibitions, murals, music, and theater. Artrasa invites artists from different backgrounds and outside artists as artists in residence. In addition to presenting individual works, Artrasa will also present collaborative works. Artrasa 2024 will be held at Fadjar Sidik Gallery, Karangkitri Cultural Center, Kampung Dolanan Cultural Corner, Panggungharjo. Artrasa Festival is open to the general public and is free of charge.
