Two teams from the Bachelor of Applied Animation Study Program won Matching Fund 2024 funding

Two teams from the Bachelor of Applied Animation Study Program (Prodi), Faculty of Recording Media Arts, ISI Yogyakarta succeeded in obtaining funding from the Matching Fund 2024 Program. The first team to obtain funding was chaired by Dr. Samuel Gandang Gunanto, S.Kom., M.T. and Rahmat Aditya Warman, S.Pd., M.Eng., Rita Kemalasari, S.Pd., M.Sn, and Wahid Nurcahyono, M.Sn. as members. The second team was chaired by Rahmat Aditya Warman, S.Pd., M.Eng. with members Dr. Samuel Gandang Gunanto, S.Kom., M.T., Rita Kemalasari, S.Pd., M.Sn and Wahid Nurcahyono, M.Sn. Both teams involved experts from the industrial world in this research, the first team collaborated with Al Fitri Muhammad Zacky as CEO of Kampoong Monster Studio and the Second Team collaborated with Radityo Krishartanto as Chairman of the Kapuk Salamba Arga Foundation.

The Matching Fund Program is a funding program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to realize the ease of synergy of higher education contributions with the commercialization of DUDI (World Business World Industry) partners. This program encourages the collaboration of higher education academicians with the business world or industry.

In the 2024 Matching Fund Program, the first team proposed a research entitled Integration of Artificial Intelligence and Game Engine Rendering for the Effectiveness of 3D Animation Production Pipeline "Mantra Pawitra". This research tries to propose an integrated model of artificial intelligence and game engine rendering technology by lifting the comic story owned by PT Kampoong Monster Studio entitled "Mantra Pawitra".

The Second Team proposed a research entitled Adaptation of Samudramanthana Story in Animation Film with Local Wisdom as an Effort to Preserve Indonesian Culture. This research aims to translate folklore texts that are full of educational values into animated films. With this effort, it is expected that more children or the community will get the educational values in folklore and motivate the younger generation to love folklore.

Interestingly, the two research teams not only collaborated with figures from the industry, but also with lecturers from outside the Animation Study Program, namely the Theater Study Program, Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta. The lecturer from the Theater Study Program is Wahid Nurcahyono, M.Sn. Hopefully this research can be completed in accordance with the specified time so that the results can be disseminated to the community.
