ISI Yogyakarta enlivened the Semarak Bulan Merdeka Belajar held in Yogyakarta on March 24 to 26, 2024, at the Vrederburg Fort Museum. ISI Yogyakarta collaborates with other state universities in Yogyakarta and work units under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology to organize Semarak Bulan Merdeka Belajar this May. Merdeka Belajar aims to raise awareness of the importance of innovative and flexible education. This celebration can be a moment to make people aware of the importance of access to quality education that is relevant to the needs of the times.
To enliven the Semarak Bulan Merdeka Belajar, ISI Yogyakarta organizes various activities such as organizing batik workshops, workshops and jemparingan gladen as well as being the conceptor and jury of the coloring competition. At the ISI Yogyakarta exhibition booth, a batik workshop was held to give visitors the experience of making batik patterns, dyeing and giving colors. This batik workshop was attended by students, college students, mothers and children. The experience offered motivated visitors to the Merdeka Learning Month to take part in the batik workshop.
The jemparingan workshop also attracted visitors to try this traditional archery sport. Students, teachers, college students and even members of the TNI were motivated to try to shoot arrows at the pendulum or target provided. ISI Yogyakarta's experience in organizing coloring and writing competitions also made it easier to organize painting or coloring competitions held at Semarak Bulan Merdeka Belajar.
Celebrating Merdeka Belajar is not just a celebration, but a concrete step to create a better, relevant and inclusive education system for all levels of society.
