The Faculty of Fine Arts (FSR) ISI Yogyakarta will organize an art exhibition entitled "TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" from 25 to 31 May 2024, at the R.J. Katamsi Gallery and the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta. This exhibition is organized in order to enliven the 8th Lustrum or the 40th anniversary of ISI Yogyakarta. The exhibition entitled TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" will feature a variety of works of fine art, design, craft, fashion, and digital art, ranging from traditional to contemporary styles by lecturers, students, alumni and international cooperation partners of FSR ISI Yogyakarta.
The opening of the exhibition will be held on May 25, 2025, at the R.J. Katamsi Gallery ISI Yogyakarta, at 19.00 - 21.00 WIB and opened by the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Irwandi, M.Sn. Along with the opening of the "TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" exhibition, a fashion show will be held which will feature 20 of the best works of the D4 Fashion Design Kriya Batik Study Program students.
The series of exhibition activities will also be enlivened by the organization of creative workshops that embody the mission of creating to recycle. In this workshop the creators will share knowledge on how to utilize the waste around us as a medium for art and creative works, focusing on the importance of processing, recycling and transforming products that are not only useful, but also help protect the environment. This activity will be held in two days where the first one targets students from high schools / vocational schools around the ISI Yogyakarta campus as participants. This workshop is also wrapped with socialization of our campus context and is expected to be useful for all participants, especially in managing and utilizing waste to produce creative and innovative works of art.
The exhibition theme "TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" combines two broad dimensions of meaning to provide an in-depth picture of art transformation: Trans-Formation and Trans for Motion. From the solid foundation of traditional art to the boundless exploration of contemporary art, visitors are invited to experience this journey of change.
The exhibition titled "TRANS-FORM(A)OTION" is open to the general public. People who want to see the exhibition can visit the R.J. Katamsi Gallery and the Faculty of Fine Arts ISI Yogyakarta, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
