Rector Opens Public Lecture on Governance and the Future of Our Fine Arts

Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, opened a public lecture entitled "Governance and the Future of Our Fine Arts" on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Concert Hall ISI Yogyakarta. This public lecture is the result of a collaboration between R.J. Katamsi Gallery and Srisasanti Gallery. In his remarks, the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta, Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. expressed his gratitude to Galeri R.J. Katamsi and Srisasanti Gallery for initiating this public lecture, the theme of the public lecture is very relevant to provide an overview of how the governance of fine arts in the country today and how it should be in the future. The public lecture was presented by Suwarno Wisetrotomo (Lecturer at ISI Yogyakarta), Maya Rizano (Head of Corporate Communications PT Bank UOB Indonesia), Heri Pemad (Founder of Artjog) and St. Eddy Prakoso (Founder of Srisasanti) and guided by moderator Iryanto Hadi (Art Collector).

This public lecture began with a presentation from St. Eddy Prakoso (Founder of Srisasanti), in his presentation he said that currently the fine arts industry in the country has not grown encouragingly. The second speaker Heri Pemad (Founder of Artjog) described various business opportunities in the field of fine arts such as packing and shipping of art goods from within and outside the country. The third speaker, Maya Rizano (Head of Corporate Communications at PT Bank UOB Indonesia), shared her experience on how to manage art competitions and the last speaker, Suwarno Wisetrotomo (Lecturer at ISI Yogyakarta), talked about how the art industry in the country should be built.

The public lecture was attended by students, lecturers, art lovers and collectors of art products. The seminar participants came not only from Yogyakarta but other cities in Indonesia such as Jakarta, Bali and Surabaya.
