ISI Yogyakarta Inaugurates Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum.
ISI Yogyakarta held an open senate session in order to inaugurate Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. on Tuesday, March 29, 2023. The open senate session of Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta inaugurated Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. as a professor of craft science. The open senate session was led by the Rector and Chairperson of the Senate of Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum.
The procession of the open senate session began with the reading of the Curriculum Vitae of Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. by the Secretary of the Senate Prof. Dr. I Wayan Dana, S.ST., M.Hum and continued with the delivery of the professor's scientific speech, the inauguration procession of professors, congratulations from members of the institute senate and group photo sessions, photos with the nuclear family and remarks from the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta. The inauguration procession was carried out by reading the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology regarding promotion to Professor or Professor, Submission of Decree and Necklace of Professor by the Chairman of the Senate Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. to Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum.
In his speech titled Kasongan Jaran Ukir Pottery, an Icon of Bantul Regency in the Perspective of Craft Science, Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo described the process of transforming Diponegoro's horse form expression into the form of "Jaran Ukir" as a manifestation of Kasongan pottery craftsmen's imagination. The process of craftsmanship is found in traditional techniques as a characteristic of paste technique decoration. The form and meaning of "Jaran Ukir" is believed to have the spirit of the struggle of the Kasongan community. Through the scientific speech, it is expected to be able to provide direction for the selection of visual cultural icons of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta.
In the inauguration procession of this professor, Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. as the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta in his speech said, hopefully this inauguration will become a momentum for Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. to gain greater enthusiasm to practice his superior competence in building the world of science and practice of craft art in the academic world and in society. So far, this expertise has certainly been intensely built in competence and performance, so that the love, responsibility, and mandate to serve the craft art profession have also been carried out strongly. The inauguration of this professor is also expected not to be the final peak of career achievement, but instead a new starting momentum to develop a career in the academic field of craftsmanship more steadily. As a professor, you will certainly become more responsible in mastering and developing scientific methodologies and academic and vocational practices in the field of craft. Moreover, it must be implemented contextually with the changes and the spirit of the times (zeit geist) now, which is related to the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution and continued the era of society 5.0.
The inauguration procession ended with congratulations from all invited guests to Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum. and his family on his inauguration as a professor. The invited guests also congratulated the senate members of ISI Yogyakarta for the successful implementation of the ISI Yogyakarta Open Senate Session in order to inaugurate Prof. Dr. Drs. Timbul Raharjo, M.Hum.
