ISI Yogyakarta leaders realize the importance of digital literacy today. Awareness of the importance of digital literacy is evidenced by ISI Yogyakarta's support for the Digital Literacy Movement of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology RI. ISI Yogyakarta's commitment to support is evidenced by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between ISI Yogyakarta and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology RI. At the time of this signing the ISI Yogyakarta Cooperation Agreement document was represented by Prof. Dr. M. Agus Burhan, M.Hum. (Rector of ISI Yogyakarta), Dr. St. Hanggar Budi Prasetya, S.Sn., M.Si. (Assistant Rector I ISI Yogyakarta) and Drs. AG. Hartono, MS (Assistant Rector II ISI Yogyakarta).
The signing of the Cooperation Agreement in conjunction with the Kick Off of Digital Literacy in the Education Sector: Digital Transformation in Era 5.0. which was held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Arya Nusa Ballroom 2,3 - Menara Danareksa Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan No.14 Central Jakarta, at 18.00 WIB until completion. In addition to the Rector of ISI Yogyakarta Kick Off Digital Literacy in the Education Sector: Digital Transformation in Era 5.0. was also attended by 28 leaders of public and private universities.
In the 5.0 era, digital literacy is a basic competency that people must have. With digital literacy, a person will be able to sort out digital information that is suitable for use, avoid hoaxes, how to ethically utilize digital literacy and survive in economic transactions in the digital era. Mistakes in utilizing information can result in economic or social losses. Seeing the urgency of information literacy competencies for the community and ISI Yogyakarta academic community, ISI Yogyakarta contributed to the Digital Literacy Movement programmed by the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
The implementation of this cooperation document is the organization of various activities such as public lectures, seminars and workshops on the topic of digital literacy. ISI Yogyakarta students will also be involved in digital literacy socialization activities to the community in conjunction with Art Area Development or Art Area Extension activities organized by ISI Yogyakarta.
