The Department of Theater held a Teaching Practitioner activity on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the Theater Auditorium, Faculty of Performing Arts ISI Yogyakarta, at 10.00 WIB until completion. In this teaching practitioner activity, the leaders of Teater Koma such as Nano Riantiarno, Ratna Riantiarno, Sari Majdid and Dr. Wawan Gunawan who are alumni of the Department of Pedalangan FSP ISI Yogyakarta and one of the officials in the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy / Tourism and Creative Economy Agency of the Republic of Indonesia. This activity was attended by officials in the FSP ISI Yogyakarta environment, lecturers of the FSP ISI Yogyakarta Theater Department and students of the FSP ISI Yogyakarta Theater Department.
The teaching practitioner activity organized by the Department of Theater is a form of implementation of the Merdeka Beajar - Merdeka Campus Program. This activity, which resembles a public lecture, will present practitioners from the business world, the industrial world and art practitioners. The presence of practitioners is expected to inspire and build networks between students, practitioners and the industrial world.
Teaching practitioners organized by the Department of Theatre will present experts in their fields, explained Nanang Arizona, Chairman of the Department of Theatre when giving a speech. These practitioners or experts will share their knowledge and experience with students. With this knowledge and experience sharing session, it is hoped that it will motivate students to continue learning and be enthusiastic in the process of creating works. This teaching practitioner activity was opened by the Dean of FSP ISI Yogyakarta, Dr. Dra. Suryati, M.Hum. in her opening remarks advised that students could take advantage of this momentum to gain knowledge from seniors.
The teaching practitioner activity began with a presentation from Nano Riantiarno on how the Koma Theater strategy can exist to this day. The next presentation was by Ratna Riantiarno about the management and promotion of Taeater Koma and Dr. Wawan Gunawan about exploring the potential of art as a cultural tourism attraction. The last presentation was delivered by Sari Majdid about how important stage manager in a performance. Hopefully, with this teaching practice activity, students of the Theater Department can take advantage of it to improve their competence.
